While Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Windows 8 are supported, we have experienced a significant slowdown on Windows 8.
For the purpose of this tutorial, we will use VMware’s Workstation with the 4K monitor attached.
Click the Start button, and then select Run.

Find and clear out the value named HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Shell.
Save the changes and restart the machine.
Did the registry changes fix the problem?

If you set the autostart attribute for a program, you can force that
